That $12 data broker opt-out didn't do what I thought it would
Saw a thread hyping up those paid removal services, so I dropped $12 on one for my info last month, but my spam calls and targeted ads actually got worse. Has anyone else tried the manual opt-out route through each broker's site and compared the results after 30 days?

Manual opt-outs through 40+ broker sites actually take way more time than they're worth. You fill out each form, wait for the email, confirm it, then half of them just re-list your info six weeks later anyway. $12 is honestly a steal compared to the 8 to 10 hours of your life you'd burn doing it yourself.
