My friend set me up on a blind date last year and the guy brought his sister along. I just smiled, finished my iced tea, and said I had to get back to work early. Later I sent a short text saying it wasn't a good fit for me. In my opinion, when family tags along on a first meet, it's a clear sign they aren't independent enough for a real relationship.
