Matched with a guy who sent me a 47-paragraph manifesto about why pineapple belongs on pizza

I swiped right on a guy who seemed normal, but after three messages he copy pasted this Absolutely insane essay arguing that pineapple pizza haters are secretly communist and I unmatched after the second paragraph, has anyone else gotten a weirdly intense food rant from a date?

@davidkim you're giving that guy way too much credit. Like, pineapple on pizza is a divisive topic sure but comparing it to communism is just... a lot. People can hate Hawaiian pizza without it being some deep political statement. Probably just a dude who spends too much time on Reddit debating toppings and thinks he's cracked the code on society. The real red flag is that he wrote 47 paragraphs about it, not his stance on fruit. Unmatching after two paragraphs was the right call. No need to overthink the guy's manifesto - sometimes a weird food rant is just a weird food rant.

Saw something online about how people who get super defensive about food preferences usually have control issues in other parts of their lives. 47 paragraphs is way too much energy to spend on a topping, he's probably just lonely and trying to find a fight.

Honestly I used to be pretty neutral on the pineapple pizza debate but reading his argument about it being a gateway to societal collapse kind of made me rethink things. Not sure I'm sold on communism being the hidden agenda behind people who hate fruit on pizza though. Maybe he's onto something or maybe he just really needs a hobby.
