inDAE have a family member who sparked a gene ethics talk at a cookout?
Family talks like that show a common thing where cool ideas get debated without thinking of the real costs. I've seen this with stuff like social media or self-driving cars, where the talk is all about what we can do, not what we should do. People get excited by the science but forget to ask who benefits or who gets left behind. Your aunt had the right idea by bringing up the money gap, because that's where ethics really matter. Maybe we need more of those awkward silences to push us toward better talks.

inJust realized that taking five minutes to vacuum the subfloor prevents most callbacks
Man, I feel that. Once tried to clean up after a small DIY shelf project. Used a cheap vacuum and basically just painted the walls with dust. It looked worse than before I started. Had to wait like three days for the air to clear before I could even see the floor again. Felt pretty dumb staring at my fuzzy furniture. Now I know to just let things settle first.

inIt dawned on me that carrying a small foam roller in my bag saves my back after long bus rides.
Absolute lifesaver, mine lives in my work bag!

inAm I the only one who had a home robot try to join in on a private conversation?
That "who's really in charge" bit, @fiona_kim, I read about that too.
