My uncle showed me a blur trick that spots fakes way faster than any AI detector

I got sick of trying those online deepfake checkers that keep saying 'inconclusive' on everything. Last weekend my uncle who worked in TV news in Austin for 30 years told me to focus on the edges around teeth and eyes during fast movement. He said the cheap fakes always pixelate weirdly there because the software can't keep up. I tested it on like 15 videos and caught 4 that all the apps missed. Has anyone else learned a simple visual trick that beats the fancy tools?

Have you ever tried looking at how light reflects in people's eyes? That's another one my old photography teacher taught me years ago. Real eyes catch light in a specific way with a little sparkle that shifts naturally as the person moves. But these AI generated faces have this flat dead look in the pupils, like someone painted a reflection on instead of it actually being there. I checked a bunch of those viral videos that were supposedly real and the eye thing caught about half of them. It takes some practice to spot but once you see it you can't unsee it.

Man the eye thing is getting a little shaky now though. Some of the newer gen AI models specifically train on portraits and reflections in eyes so they actually nail that sparkle effect pretty often now. It might have worked six months ago but it's already getting outpaced.
