Rant: Paid $80 for a deepfake AVI detector and it fell for my own edited video
Last Tuesday I bought one of those AI verification tools after my brother sent me a clip of a politician saying something wild. The thing gave it a 98% real score, but I literally edited that clip myself in CapCut using my own face swap. How are we supposed to trust any of these tools when they can't even catch a basic edit from a free app? Has anyone else tested these detectors with your own fake content and watched them fail?

CapCut aint even the hard stuff either, I ran a 2 minute deepfake of a CEO through 3 different detectors last month and 2 of them flagged it as real. The real issue is these companies train their models on Hollywood level fakes, so anything done in a free app looks legit to them by comparison.
