Rant: After 12 years of wrenching, I finally dropped the fancy scan tool for a cheap one
Been turning wrenches since 2012 and always ran a $4,000 Snap-On scanner. Last month my buddy convinced me to try his $180 Autel MaxiCOM for a 2021 Freightliner with a no-start. Took me 20 minutes to pull the same DTCs and live data that the Snap-On took an hour to set up for. I'm not saying it does everything, but for 90% of the electrical gremlins I see daily, it's more than enough. Anyone else ditched the top-tier tool for a budget one and never looked back?
