Three days wasted on a layer mask that was literally invisible
I swear I spent 72 hours trying to figure out why my digital painting looked flat. I kept tweaking colors, adjusting opacity, even reinstalled my tablet drivers twice. Turned out I had a layer mask on with black paint that was hiding half the detail. I accidentally clicked the mask thumbnail in Clip Studio and saw it there plain as day. Anybody else have a stupid simple fix that made you want to throw your screen out the window?

Oh yeah, I had that exact thing happen with the adjustment layer in Photoshop. Spent a whole weekend thinking my brush pressure curve got corrupted, but nope, just a black mask hiding everything I did. Ended up slapping myself in the forehead hard enough to leave a mark.

Three layers deep into a group project file and I accidentally painted a black mask on my final render pass. Took me two hours and a full pot of coffee to realize the gradient I slapped on was actually hiding the whole thing, not adding a shadow like I thought. Even worse? I had auto-mask on, so every stroke I made just made the mask bigger and blacker. By the time I figured it out I had like 47 layers of nothing but invisible work. Ended up deleting all of them in a rage and starting fresh.
