Update: Found a corner of the web where my views don't get erased
Forum admins back in the day focused on spam, not shutting down debates. I now use small, member-led groups that prioritize free expression. What methods work for you to avoid censorship online?

Wait what, old forums only cared about spam? No wonder caseythompson has the right idea now.

Totally! But even member-led stuff gets messy sometimes. I've seen Reddit mods go on crazy power trips and delete anything they disagree with. Discord admins can be just as bad if they pick favorites. It's way better than some big company doing it, but you still need good people running things.

But have you ever worked under a bad boss? At least with a company you can file a report or something. A volunteer mod who hates you can just ruin a whole community forever with no way to stop them. I'd take a clear, boring corporate rule over a random person's bad mood any day.

Member-led groups are the only way now. I just bounce when a platform starts deleting posts.
