Spent a month in Lisbon and noticed something about coworking spaces

I loved the community vibe at the small spots in Alfama, but the big chain spaces near the waterfront felt more like lonely offices. Is it better to pay for comfort with strangers or save money and hustle in a cafe? What's your take?

Found a spot in Lisbon's Graça neighborhood that had a cat sleeping on the printer. Best coworking I ever had.

Nah, big chains are better for actual work, not just vibes.

Walked into a local coffee shop last week and watched the barista fumble through three different orders before getting mine right. Meanwhile, I can walk into any Starbucks and get a decent latte in under two minutes. @samk77, you're onto something - there's something to be said for consistency when you actually need to get stuff done. The mom and pop places are nice for hanging out but when I need caffeine on a deadline, give me the corporate machine every time.
