Just hit 50,000 spam emails blocked in my Proton account

I checked my spam filter yesterday and it said I've blocked over 50,000 emails since I made the account back in 2019. That number blew my mind. It makes me think about all the tracking pixels and data collection that would have happened if I was still using Gmail or Outlook. Has anyone else checked their own block count and gotten surprised by how high it is?

Are you serious, 50,000? That's insane, dude. I've had my Proton account for about the same time and I checked mine after reading your post, it was around 38k and I already thought that was a lot. It really hits you how much junk and tracking is out there when you see it all piled up like that. You gotta wonder how much of our data those big email companies just gobble up without us even knowing, ya know? It makes me feel better knowing I'm not feeding that machine every time someone sends me a spammy newsletter.

38k is wild too though, 38k! @kim.nina you gotta be drowning in spam at that point. Makes me wonder what Gmail or Outlook would look like after that many years, probably triple that number.

I read a study recently that said most people never bother to unsubscribe from old mailing lists, they just let them pile up forever. It really makes you think about all those forgotten subscriptions and signups from years ago.
