My cousin keeps typing her password into the search bar instead of the login box

Saw her do it three times last week on her laptop in Chicago, then she wondered why she kept getting 'page not found' errors. Anyone else deal with family members who just skip the login form entirely?

Maybe it's just me but I always assumed people just made that kind of mistake once and then figured it out. Then my aunt did the same thing with her email password and the Google search bar for like a week straight. She kept saying the internet was broken but really she was just typing her password into the wrong white box every single time. It's wild how some folks just get stuck in a routine and never question it.

Wait @the_wade, are you sure your aunt wasn't just testing how many times the universe would let her do the same thing and expect a different result? Sounds like a real-life DVD screensaver situation.

Guess nobody thought about how maybe she just liked the feeling of being frustrated in a safe way, like some people watch sad movies on purpose. My uncle used to get annoyed at his GPS every single time it told him to turn left, even though he knew the route by heart. He'd still yell at the thing like it was the first time he'd ever seen it. Maybe your aunt gets a little hit of dopamine from the routine of being mad at the internet, and that's just her weird comfort zone.
