Epoxy resin counters won me over after my laminate disaster

I always thought epoxy was just for garage floors and too finicky for kitchens. But when my laminate countertop got a huge crack, I grabbed a DIY kit as a last resort. Using a propane torch to eliminate the air bubbles made all the difference, and now it has this deep, glossy finish that hides stains perfectly. Honestly, it was way easier than I expected and saved me a ton on a full replacement.

Heat resistance makes epoxy a killer choice for kitchens. No more worrying about hot pots ruining the surface. It's tough stuff that lasts.

Get why @price.ben is excited about epoxy's heat resistance. It's a REAL game-changer for protecting countertops from burns. That kind of peace of mind is hard to beat.

Peace of mind? Epoxy yellows from heat.

Epoxy's heat claim gets overhyped sometimes. I've seen it yellow or even soften a bit when someone left a hot baking dish right on it. That glossy finish can get cloudy from heat over time. For real peace of mind, I still use a trivet. Some other materials handle direct heat way better.
