Warning: I thought those peel-and-stick backsplash tiles were a total scam until I put up a 10-square-foot section in my rental kitchen in under an hour.

My landlord said no permanent changes, but these things held strong for over a year through steam and splatters, and I just peeled them off clean with zero damage when I moved out last month, so has anyone else found a temporary fix that actually worked that well?

Just had a close call with a cheap paint sprayer in my basement

I was finishing a built-in bookcase project down there last night, and my new sprayer started making a weird hissing sound. I ignored it for about 30 seconds, and then the whole thing just started spraying paint everywhere except on the wood! It was a huge mess on the concrete floor and my tools. I had to unplug it fast and spend over an hour cleaning up. The sprayer was only $40, and I guess you get what you pay for. Has anyone found a good, affordable sprayer that won't fail mid-project?

Cut a drawer front too short on a big kitchen job in Phoenix

I was fitting the last drawer for a maple vanity and realized I was a quarter inch short on the width. The client was coming the next day and I had no extra wood from that batch. I ended up cutting a thin strip from the back edge of the drawer box itself and gluing it to the front, then re-cutting the box joint. It blended perfectly after sanding and finishing. Has anyone else saved a piece this way when you're out of matching material?

I finally tried making a simple website with just HTML versus using a template builder.

A retired body shop guy gave me the best tip on rust repair

PSA: A delivery guy showed me a garage door trick I'll never forget
