Unpopular opinion: The comic shop crowd in my town changed completely after the new movie came out.
Before the Spider-Verse sequel, it was just us regulars talking about back issues. Now there's a line out the door every Wednesday of people asking for the 'first appearance of the pig guy'. Anyone else's local spot get weird like that?
That limit seems pretty fair to me honestly. Maybe it's just me but letting people buy up all the special covers kills the fun for everyone else. I saw a guy clear out a whole shelf of the last Spider-Man #1 variants. Regular collectors who just wanted one copy for their shelf were totally out of luck. A three per person rule at least gives more people a shot.
Yeah my shop did the same thing last year. They started a pull list system for big releases. You sign up ahead of time and they guarantee you one copy of the main cover and one variant. Stopped all the shelf clearing. Felt way more fair. Now everyone who actually reads the book gets a copy.
