Why does nobody talk about using dental floss to cut soft cheese
I spent years trying to cut brie and goat cheese logs with a knife and just making a mess every time. A friend at a party last month pulled out a piece of floss and sliced through a whole wheel of camembert in one clean pass. I felt kind of dumb for never thinking of it myself. Now I keep a unflavored spool in my kitchen drawer just for cheese. Does anyone else have a kitchen tool they use for something totally different than intended?

Saw a chef on YouTube use fishing line once, same idea works for cheese logs too.

...and honestly, my old roommates used to use a clean pair of scissors to slice through frozen pizza because the wheel cutter went missing. Tbh it worked way better than you'd expect, quick and no jagged edges. Ngl I still grab the scissors sometimes even though I know where the cutter is now.

Keep the floss taut and pull it through in one smooth motion for the cleanest cut every time.
