Changed my mind about coroplast signs after hitting 50 of them

I used to think foam board was always the way to go for protests signs, but after making my 50th sign last weekend for a local rally, coroplast is way more durable and cheaper per sign at $3.50 a sheet. What material did you guys settle on after trial and error?

Coroplast is actually polyethylene, not the same stuff as the vinyl-coated paper they use for most real estate signs. That said, it does hold up way better in rain or wind than foam board ever will.

Read somewhere that coroplast is basically the same stuff they use for real estate signs and political yard signs that sit out in the rain for months. Makes sense why it holds up better than foam board which starts peeling after one drizzle. Foam board has that nice stiff look for photos though, can't argue with that. But at $3.50 a sheet you can just make extras if one gets wrecked.

Does coroplast actually hold sharpie ink better than regular sign vinyl long term, or does it bleed like crazy if it gets even a little damp? I remember trying to hand-letter some signs on coroplast and the ink just sat on top and smeared whenever I touched it. That hard plastic surface seems like it would be a pain for any detailed artwork compared to foam board's paper finish.
