Heard someone at the park say satellite dishes look like junk in yards
I was at the library in Austin last week and overheard a guy complaining about how ugly DIY dishes look. It got me thinking about how we could make them blend in better instead of just putting up a big metal flower. Maybe painting them to match the roof or using mesh instead of solid stuff would help. Any tips on making a dish look less like an eyesore?

My buddy Mike painted his dish the same color as his brown shingles and you can barely spot it from the street now. He said it took like thirty bucks in spray paint and an afternoon, way cheaper than moving it.

Is it really that big of a deal though? I mean, how often are people staring at your roof anyway?

Wait, have you ever actually seen a dish that someone tried to hide but did a half-assed job on it? I used to think the same way you do, like who cares what your roof looks like. But then I drove through a neighborhood where this one house had a bright white dish smack in the middle of a dark roof and it just looked terrible. After that, I started noticing all the other bad ones and it bugged me way more than I thought it would. Honestly, if it only takes thirty bucks and an afternoon to make it less obvious, I'd probably just do it so I wouldn't have to think about it anymore.
