Shoutout to the guy who told me to hardwire my dashcam

Some dude on here last year said those plug in cigarette lighter cams are fine until they fall off your windshield on a hot day. He was right, mine dropped right into my lap while I was merging on the 405 freeway last July. Anyone else have a cam fail at a worse time?

Wait, it dropped straight into your LAP while you were merging on the 405? That's terrifying. I would have probably screamed and swerved into another lane. Mine just fell onto the passenger floorboard, which was bad enough, but at least it didn't end up tangled around the gas pedal or something. That whole cigarette lighter setup is just asking for trouble in the summer heat.
