I was helping a friend with his vintage Beechcraft Bonanza engine mount, following the manual from 1978. I'd always done the bolts in a star pattern but kind of guessed the order. He pointed to a tiny, faded diagram in the appendix showing a specific 12-step sequence I'd never noticed. We did it by the book and the final torque values were way more even across all points.
