My dredge boss ignores my input during operations

Yesterday in a rough channel, I saw the sediment was too dense for our cutter. I suggested slowing down, but the boss pushed the equipment harder. Now the cutter head is jammed. How do you handle when management ignores your advice?

Ever try showing them past results when their idea failed? I had a boss push a bad process until I pulled up old project data. Seeing the numbers actually made them back off for once.
