Mesh tape over paper for inside corners... taught myself after a crack and never looked back.

Wait really? I've always had mesh fail on me there, it just doesn't hold the mud the same. A good paper tape job done right won't crack either.

But you're using mesh wrong then. Paper tape is junk for any real movement. I had mesh save a whole wall after my house settled, zero cracks. That paper stuff just peels away when things shift. Mesh sticks better and lets the mud lock in. Seen too many paper jobs fail in humidity too.

My old foreman in Phoenix swore by mesh for ceilings, but you gotta pre-fill the gap before you tape.
