Vent: had to choose between duct tape and glue for my broken bike fender
My front fender snapped off at the bracket. Rainy season started. I had to pick. Duct tape or epoxy. Went with duct tape because I needed it fixed in 5 minutes. Two layers wrapped tight around the frame. Rode to work and back, still holding after 3 days. The epoxy would have taken overnight. Anyone else have a quick fix that worked better than the "right" tool?

Honestly, it's just a bike fender. Tape, glue, zip ties, whatever gets you home dry. People act like it's brain surgery but it's a piece of plastic on a commuter bike.

Buddy of mine had his car bumper hanging off after a parking lot hit and run. Zip ties. He used like a dozen thick zip ties through the bracket holes and around the frame. Held for almost two years through potholes and everything. Sold the car still with zip ties on it. Duct tape is good but zip ties have that mechanical grip that tape just can't match.

Duct tape is for emergencies, epoxy is for forever. Three days is good but you'll be redoing that tape in a week when the rain gets under it. Always keep both in the garage so you can make the call.

Logan nailed it with zip ties, they'll take way more vibration than tape over time. Zip ties and a little silicone caulk around the bracket is a cheap fix that'll outlast the tape. @logan_mitchell
