Got hit with a $400 fine for owning a 'blue hedgehog' in my town - no joke

I moved to Belton, Texas last year and found out there's still a law on the books saying you can't own a blue hedgehog. Found that out the hard way when my neighbor ratted me out for my little pet Spike, got a ticket for $400. Took me three weeks and two trips to city hall just to get it dismissed because they kept saying I needed a 'wildlife variance' but nobody knew what that was. Has anyone else run into some ancient law that's still enforced for no reason?

Spike's probably the chill one in the pet lineup lol. My buddy's cat got a warning for chasing the mailman.

Oh jeez, I actually saw a TikTok about that the other day! Some pets are wildin' out and getting into legal trouble, it's nuts how that's a real thing now. Glad Spike kept his nose clean lol.
