Just realized my town bans washing your car in the driveway unless you use a bucket with a cutoff nozzle
I got a $50 ticket last Sunday for using a regular hose to rinse my sedan, even though I was just doing a quick soap-free spray down. The officer pointed me to a 1987 ordinance that says you need a self-closing nozzle or a bucket with a spray head to wash any vehicle on private property. Has anyone else got dinged for some random hose law that nobody actually knows about?

@gavin469 is right, that little nozzle saves so much hassle and keeps the cops off your back for basically pocket change.

Ngl I got the exact same ticket last spring in my own driveway. Had to go down to city hall and the clerk literally pulled out a faded paper from the 80s covered in coffee stains. Best move I made was buying a cheap cutoff nozzle at the hardware store for like 4 bucks and keeping it clipped to my hose so it's always visible. Still feels ridiculous that I have to prove I'm not wasting water when I'm just trying to keep my Corolla from looking like a dust magnet. The cops around here love to use that ordinance to meet their quota, especially on sunny weekends.

Bought one of those nozzles too after getting a warning from a neighbor who thought I was doing something shady. Now I just keep it clipped to the hose year round so I don't forget it when summer hits.
