Totally agree, I remember going to Philly as a kid and the crack was facing the street. Went back a few years ago and it was like facing the building. I swear they moved it when they did that new visitors center or whatever. Made me feel crazy trying to explain it to my wife.

Dude same thing happened to me! I took my kids last summer and kept telling them the crack was pointing out toward the street when I saw it in elementary school. They looked at me like I was losing it. My buddy who lives in Philly swears they rotated it when they built that whole visitor center complex around 2008 or so. I'm not saying it's a conspiracy but why would they just silently spin a giant historical artifact around without a single sign or announcement? It's like they're gaslighting us on purpose.

wait what?? hold on @reese_hayes71 you're telling me the crack was facing the street before?? i remember it facing the building my whole life and now i'm second guessing everything. that is wild if they actually rotated it during the visitors center project. i just figured i was remembering wrong but maybe not. there's no way they'd bother moving a giant bell like that without someone saying something official about it though. makes you wonder what else got quietly shifted around in those museums.
