Getting my teen to help with hoof picks cut my cleanup time in half
Tbh, I was fed up with cleanup after shoeing. My kid was always on his phone, lol. So I got him to help with hoof picks and tool passing. He learned fast and now catches stuff like rocks in hooves. It cuts my time down a lot. We bond over it, which is cool. Give it a try if you have teens!

I gotta disagree, making teens do farm work can backfire big time. My cousin's kid just got more sneaky with his phone to avoid helping, lol. So @ray_williams, it's not always a smart move and can just lead to more fights.

Man, that is so relatable! It's tough when they're glued to their screens all the time. Turning it into a way to spend time together is really smart.

Seriously! It's a weird victory when you get them to look up from a screen. I mean, my kid talked to me for five whole minutes yesterday before asking to charge his tablet. Feels like we're training for some bleak future small talk olympics.
