Rant: This design app keeps deleting my layers for no reason

I was working on a jacket design last night and the app just ate three layers of detailing. Had to redo everything from scratch, and it happened again today. The support team just said 'clear your cache' like that fixes everything. Honestly, thinking of going back to paper and pencil at this point.

Ever check if it's only happening when you save as a specific file type? My old app did that with PNG exports but was fine with everything else.

Did you maybe mean the app version instead? Mine only glitched on old software before an update fixed it. Honestly this sounds more like a software update problem than file types.

Hey, have you read about those layer corruption bugs in design software? I saw a forum post where people said their apps would eat layers when the undo history got too full. Like, if you undo and redo a lot, it can mess things up. Someone lost a whole logo design because the app crashed during a save. Maybe your app has a similar glitch with how it handles memory? Have you tried working with fewer layers at a time?
