Serious observation: Cookie-cutter trends are suffocating originality in my city's design scene
Honestly, I've noticed that every boutique in my neighborhood is now stocking identical oversized blazers and cargo pants. Tbh, it feels like designers are just regurgitating Instagram trends instead of innovating. Ngl, I miss the days when local fashion weeks showcased unique, intricate embroidery and bold color palettes. It's frustrating how safety in design has become the norm over creative risk-taking.

Did creativity get lost in the cargo pants shipment?

My friend sewed neon reflectors onto his cargo pants for a 'night cycling' vibe, and now they're permanently confiscated by his cat. @michael_lopez53, creativity might be hiding in questionable alterations. The cat certainly thinks so.

At the sample sale near Union Square, I noticed those cargo pants had completely different stitching and pocket placements depending on the brand. I mean, it feels like the trend is just a template that local designers are customizing with small, creative details. Idk, maybe it's just me but I've seen some really innovative fabric mixes in those oversized blazers, like recycled materials woven in. The creativity isn't gone, it's just shifted into refining the basics.
