Serious question, do you ever let a design sit for months before finishing it?

I had a skirt pattern I worked on last fall, but it just didn't feel complete. I put it away in a drawer and almost forgot about it. Six months later, I pulled it out and saw the issue right away-the waistband was too stiff. Switching to a softer interfacing made all the difference. That wait let me see the design with fresh eyes. Now I think some projects need that break to turn out right. It's better than forcing a finish before it's ready.

Oh perfect, so my unfinished projects aren't procrastination, they're just...incubating. Guess I'll tell my closet full of half-done stuff it's a creative choice.

Used to feel guilty about my half-finished knitting projects and empty photo albums. Then I read about creative cycles needing fallow periods. Now I see that closet as a garden where some ideas bloom fast and others need seasons. The good ones always call me back when it's time.

That closet full of half-done stuff really hits home. I have a similar box of projects that I swear are just resting. Maybe they'll finish themselves one day.
