Got fired from my retail gig for liking a post about unionizing

I worked at a big box store in Phoenix for about 8 months. Last month I liked a tweet from a coworker talking about unionizing the warehouse crew. My manager called me in the next day and said it was "creating a hostile environment" and let me go. I told him it was just a like, not even a comment, and he said policy is policy. Has anyone else lost a job over something that small on social media?

Actually, that's not a policy - that's retaliation, it's illegal under federal labor law.

Yeah @baker.holly hit the nail on the head with that one. It's wild how often people try to pass off shady stuff as "just the way things work around here" when it's straight up illegal.
