Tried Google Calendar reminders against a paper planner for two weeks straight
I was using a paper planner for years to keep track of my appointments and to-do lists. Then I got tired of rewriting stuff when I forgot to bring it with me. So I switched to Google Calendar reminders for two weeks to see if it was better. The digital version actually won because it pinged me 15 minutes before everything with no effort on my part. But I missed the satisfaction of crossing things off with a pen. Has anyone else found a hybrid system that works for both?

Pen's the only reason I still keep a paper grocery list, honestly.

So you really think an app buzzing at you is better than actually writing stuff down? I mean sure, the reminder is nice but you're basically letting a computer run your life at that point. Paper forces you to look at your whole week every time you open it, not just what's coming up in 15 minutes. Plus you can scribble notes in the margins that you'd never remember to type into a calendar. I've been doing paper for years and never had that much trouble rewriting things, just gotta keep the planner in your bag or on the kitchen counter. Calendars disappear when your phone dies or you lose signal, but paper's always there.

Poke fun at me all you want, but my phone has never forgotten to buzz while my paper planner has definitely forgotten to exist in my bag. Now who's really running my life?
