Found a weird way to fix a squeaky subfloor without pulling up the whole thing

Had a job in a 1950s house in Tacoma where the owner didn't want the new vinyl plank pulled up to fix a squeak. I remembered an old timer saying to use powdered graphite. I drilled a tiny hole right at the joist seam, puffed a bunch of the powder in with a straw, and worked the floor a bit. The squeak is totally gone now, took maybe 15 minutes. Anyone else tried something like this on an old subfloor?

Ever try a dry bar of soap?

Read somewhere that a dry bar can actually last longer since it doesn't get mushy. Makes sense if you think about how much gets washed down the drain. Might be worth a try lol.

Ever feel like you're always fighting a losing battle with your soap? I hear you, the mushy mess is the worst.

Wondering if that graphite trick would work on my old truck's creaky door hinges too.
