Wait, you're doing this after the wedding?

Maybe to preserve it as a keepsake?

Quoting "keepsake" like it's some heirloom or something. I mean, it's a wedding dress not the crown jewels. You're gonna wear it once, take some pictures, then stuff it in a box for 30 years until your kid wants to play dress up with it. I get wanting to keep it clean for the photos but acting like you gotta preserve it for future generations... it's a dress. Most people I know just get it dry cleaned and call it a day. Unless you're planning on re-wearing it for your 50th anniversary or something it's really not that deep.

Right, after the wedding is the key! I had to learn that the hard way too. @west.casey is onto something with the keepsake idea, it's so worth it to keep them looking nice.

@aaron854 I get it, it sounds crazy but once you've seen a dress get ruined because someone waited too long to clean it, you change your mind fast. I'm speaking from experience, and not in a good way. I had my own dress sitting in a bag for six months after the wedding, thinking it was fine, then when I finally took it out there was a yellow stain right on the front that never came out. So yeah, I'm a bit of a cautionary tale. @west.casey is right, it's not about being fancy, it's about not being a dummy like me. If I could go back, I would have gotten it cleaned the week after.
