Years ago, I began composting flower waste from the shop. Now, we barely fill one trash bag a week.

Seeing this makes me realize how many little habits can shrink our footprint. My neighbor started line-drying clothes and now her electric bill dropped. It's the same idea, just cutting out waste bit by bit. Once you get into that rhythm, you find more areas to simplify. Really changes how you view stuff you used to just throw away.

How do you avoid stiff towels when line-drying? I gave up and now my footprint's probably bigger, oops.

Try shaking your towels hard before you hang them, that really helps with the stiffness, @adams.uma. It's like the post says, those little habits add up to less waste everywhere. Seeing a trash bag last a whole week shows how cutting out small things changes everything.

Ugh, stiff towels are the worst. I just give mine a good snap before hanging and it helps a ton. Same with jeans, shake the legs out so they don't dry like cardboard. It's all those tiny steps, like using both sides of a paper towel or actually finishing leftovers. They feel dumb but they add up fast.
