Found out garage epoxy really needs 60 degree temps minimum

I started my floor coating in late October when it was 55 degrees and it peeled up in three spots within a month. Read the fine print on the can and realized that detail explains everything. Anyone else mess this up their first time?

Nah I think you're overthinking it. I did mine at 45 degrees and it's been fine for two years now. Probably just a bad batch or something wrong with your prep work.

But didn't your temperature readings dip below 45 at night though? The floor temp stays cold way longer than the air temp after a cold snap, and that's what gets you. I'm with the OP on this one, the cure temps are no joke and prep won't fix a bad chemical reaction lol.

Is it really that serious though? Like yeah cold floors are annoying but we're talking about a floor cure, not open heart surgery. I've seen guys do pours in borderline freezing temps and the slab held up fine for years (they definitely didn't follow the bag instructions either). The whole "chemical reaction" thing gets way overblown online - concrete is tougher than people give it credit for.
