Had to choose between epoxy and polyaspartic for my garage floor, went with the cheaper option
Was getting quotes for my 2 car garage in Austin and epoxy was gonna be about $1200 while polyaspartic was almost double that. I went with epoxy because my buddy said it holds up fine if you prep right. Did the whole thing myself over a weekend, acid etch and all. It's been 4 months and honestly no complaints so far. Anyone else cheap out on their floor coating and regret it later?

Hey same boat here! @sage_moore37 I totally feel you on that. I went with epoxy for my 2 car garage too, saved about $700 compared to the polyaspartic quotes. Did the acid etch and everything, and honestly it's been 8 months now and still looks great. One thing I did differently was I used a compressor and air blower before painting to get all the dust off, and I think that helped a lot. No regrets so far man, just gotta be careful with hot tires in the summer.

Did you do the acid etch yourself? I did the same thing about a year ago and my floor still looks brand new. Best decision I made, saved like 800 bucks and it wasn't even that hard.

Wait hold on, you acid etched and painted a 2 car garage in one weekend? That's insane to me. I mean I'm not saying it's impossible but I've done enough DIY stuff to know things always take longer than you think. Getting the floor clean, the etch, the rinse, waiting for it to dry, then doing all the coats. My buddy tried the same thing and his floor peeled up in like 6 months because he rushed the drying time between coats. I'm just surprised you pulled it off that fast without any issues. Maybe your prep game is way better than his.
