Found out my gas stove puts out as much NO2 as a busy intersection, anyone else seen that stat?
I was reading a study from Stanford that said gas stoves can emit nitrogen dioxide at levels comparable to a traffic-heavy street within 15 minutes of cooking. Idk if that's enough to make me switch to induction, but it's kind of wild to think about. Has anyone else come across a specific number or fact that actually changed their mind on this?

Turned on my range hood fan every single time I cook now, even just boiling water. Learned that most people don't run theirs at all, and the fan actually makes a huge difference, like cutting the NO2 levels by half or more. I also started cracking a window nearby, especially when I'm using the oven for a while. It's not a perfect fix but it's way better than just standing there breathing it in.

Same with gas stoves, I never realized how much they're just pumping crap into the air until I put a monitor in the kitchen.

It's funny how we just accept stuff like that without ever thinking about it. I noticed the same thing with air filters in the house - people slap them in and forget them for a year, not realizing the whole system is basically just moving dust around by then. It's like we assume if something is running or plugged in, it must be doing its job automatically. But half the time these things need you to actually hit the button or change the filter or crack the damn window.
