Customer pushed for cheaper glass in a risky spot

Got a request to use basic float glass instead of laminated for a balcony railing to save money. I know it's a huge fall hazard and breaks codes, but they kept arguing it was fine. Ever faced pressure to cut corners on safety just to please a client?

With CHEAPER glass in a risky spot, you GOTTA hold the line.

My buddy had a client who insisted on the cheapest option for a big window facing the street. He warned them, but they went for it anyway. A kid kicked a soccer ball a few weeks later and the whole pane just shattered into a million pieces. Ended up costing them way more in the long run to fix everything properly. Sometimes holding the line on price is about more than just the money right now.

Turned down that same pressure last month.

Actually, turning it down was the smart move.
