Forgot to check the expiration date on my worm farm starter kit, lost the whole batch in a week
This was about two months ago in my garage. I bought a $40 starter kit of red wigglers online, set up the bin with bedding, food scraps, the works. After about 5 days they started crawling up the sides and dying. Turns out the kit had been sitting in a warehouse for 8 months. Called the company and they sent a replacement but man, the smell of rotting worms is something else. Anyone else lose a batch from bad stock?

Nah man, the worms crawling up doesn't mean they're bad stock. It means your bedding was too wet.

My buddy Tim had worms climbing his walls after a heavy rain, totally his fault for overwatering.

yeah, too much moisture will make them try to escape every time. you gotta keep the bedding damp but not soaked, like a wrung-out sponge.
