Hot take: Stopping my birth control after 10 years wrecked my mental health for 6 weeks
I got off the pill last month because my doc said my migraine risk was up, but by day 4 I was sobbing over a cereal commercial for no reason. By week 3 my anxiety was through the roof, like panic attacks just trying to drive to the grocery store. Did anyone else's hormones mess with them this bad after quitting, or is it just me?

Oh man, that cereal commercial thing hit me hard. I had the exact same experience when I quit after about 7 years - I was crying at literally everything, even dumb stuff like a dog walking past my house. The panic attacks were the worst part for me too, I couldn't even answer my phone without my heart racing. It took me closer to 8 weeks before I felt like my brain was back to normal, so you're definitely not alone in this mess.

The 8 week thing is real man, nobody talks about how long it actually takes for your brain to rewire itself after that long. I was a mess for at least 10 weeks, thought I was broken forever. The crying at stupid stuff is so weird, like one time I saw a pigeon eating a french fry and I almost lost it. But that panic attack thing you mentioned is the scariest part, I literally couldn't leave my house for two weeks because my heart would start pounding if I saw a car go by. It does get better though, I promise. Just gotta keep pushing through that foggy feeling where everything feels fake and scary at the same time.
