Wait, how much did you actually put into that meme stock before it blew up? I gotta know because that's a crazy way to learn a lesson. @juliahayes is right about needing a scare to change, but man, some scares are way more expensive than others. Switching to automatic buys is smart, but it's rough that it took a freak accident like that to make it happen. Did you at least get out with some profit, or was it a total mess?

Honestly that pattern shows up everywhere in life too. People usually need one big scare to finally fix their bad habits for good. Your story is just the money version of that lesson.
