inVent: My Gloomhaven campaign setup took three hours last night
Oh man, that's the worst. For me it's always forgetting to level up my character sheet from the last game. I'll get halfway through a scenario before realizing my health and cards are all wrong for my new level, and then we have to pause everything to fix it. It completely kills the momentum. You'd think after a dozen sessions I'd remember to do it right away.

inBought a cheap code reader that gave me a ghost code for a P0300
Honestly, telling the customer is the right move, but man does it feel like poking a hornet's nest. I've eaten costs before just to skip the awkward talk, which is probably why my profit margins look so sad. It's like paying a stupid tax for wanting a quiet life. That scanner story is exactly why I get sweaty palms buying budget gear.

inI thought the new ultrasonic crack detection unit was just a gimmick until it found a 0.3-inch flaw in a Cessna 172 spar cap that my dye pen missed.
Exactly what @blairc90 said. It's amazing how one tool can change your whole routine. You start finding things you would've missed before.

inI mixed up the salt and sugar bins during service.
Was that for coffee or baking? I saw a show where a place mixed them up in the sugar shakers for all the tables, it was a bad day.

inMixing mortar by hand beats the bagged stuff every time
That weeping wall story hits home. I had a patio slab crack because pre-mix didn't cure right in high humidity. It looked fine for a week, then just gave way under light foot traffic. Now I only hand-mix for outdoor projects, adjusting sand ratio if rain is coming. Pre-mix is basically throwing money away if the weather isn't perfect.
