Showerthought: My minimalist phone cleanup triggered a silent mode fiasco with my landlord
I decided to embrace digital minimalism by turning off all non-essential notifications on my phone. Now my landlord's urgent texts about a leaky pipe got buried, and I came home to a mini indoor pool, lol. What's the most absurd way your simplifying efforts have backfired?

But like, did that finally teach you what 'essential' actually means?

Wiped my transit app during a similar purge, then stood helpless at the turnstile holding a monthly pass that only existed digitally. Had to buy a single paper ticket at the inflated price, feeling like a total chump. That cold, hard plastic ticket was my own soggy grocery bag moment for sure.

Well, my own minimalist purge involved deleting "unnecessary" apps, which somehow included my building's secure entry system. Convinced I was streamlining my life (a noble goal, clearly), I spent twenty minutes locked outside in the rain because the keypad code was, of course, only in the now-vanished app. Had to sheepishly call a neighbor for rescue while my groceries got soggy. That particular brand of digital cleanliness absolutely backfired, creating a very physical and damp problem. It feels like the universe's joke on overzealous organizers, you know?
