That weird light I saw over the lake 3 years ago - finally figured out what it was

I used to be one of those people who swore every odd thing in the sky had to be aliens. But last week I finally solved a mystery from 2021 that changed my mind completely. I was sitting on my dock at Lake Minnetonka around 11pm and saw this bright orange orb just hovering for like 20 minutes before zipping away. Spent hours on forums trying to match it to anything. Turned out it was a guy named Pete from three cabins down launching his homemade Chinese lanterns for his daughter's wedding rehearsal. He told me he launched like 15 of them that night and most just floated off but one got caught in a breeze pattern. The whole thing took me 3 years to solve just because I never thought to ask my neighbors. Has anyone else had a sighting that turned out to be something totally normal from a weird angle?

Yeah I saw an interview clip with him a few weeks back and he seemed pretty down to earth honestly. @elliotm57 if that's the guy you met I could see why you'd say that.
