Tried DIY legal filing without a lawyer and got wrecked by a technicality
Filed a small claims case in Phoenix over a $1,200 deposit dispute and the judge tossed it because I wrote the wrong address format on the form. Has anyone else gotten burned by little court rules that seem like they shouldn't matter?
Oh man that's brutal. My buddy tried to file a restraining order in Maricopa County and they kicked it back because he put his zip code in the wrong box, like one digit off. He even drove down there to fix it and the clerk made him resubmit the whole packet with a new filing fee. It's crazy how they'll toss you on some tiny thing but then let actual nonsense slide.
Gotta push back a little here, @kai_webb91. I mean yeah it sucks but at the same time if they let one tiny mistake slide then suddenly everyone's claiming their stuff should be fine too. Where's the line, you know?
