Critic scores on sites like Rotten Tomatoes are missing the point
I went to see that new sci-fi film everyone was talking about. Critics gave it a low score for being 'unoriginal', but the visuals and soundtrack were amazing. Why do we let a handful of people decide what's good? It just doesn't make sense to me.

Seriously, critics are like that about everything, not just movies. I see it with restaurant reviews too, where some food snob hates a place for being simple, but the burgers are actually perfect. It's like they get paid to find problems regular people don't even care about.

Where's your go-to for a perfect no-fuss burger?

Honestly, the grill at my local bowling alley. It sounds wrong, but it's right. They have one kind of burger, it comes with chips, and the guy cooking has been doing it the same way for twenty years. You get a greasy, salty patty on a basic bun and it never tries to be anything else. That's the whole point.

Totally agree about critics missing the point of a simple great burger! My absolute go-to is just a local diner that does one thing well. They use fresh beef, a soft bun, and don't overload it with ten fancy toppings. It's cheap, it's fast, and it hits the spot every single time. I'll take that over some fussy gastropub burger any day.
