My tomato plants doubled yield after a simple change, but I'm torn on why.

But is daily care really that needed? Lots of plants do just fine without constant checking. Only serious growers might need to put in that much effort.

A deepfake of my brother telling a childhood story shook our family

Ugh, that's creepy. My friend once used an app to blur all our faces in a group photo before sending it to the family group chat as a "joke." It took everyone a solid minute to figure out why we all looked so weird, and his grandma got really upset. It's just playing with a different kind of fake, I guess.

I switched to outcome-based pay and my shop's output got sharper

Exactly, everyone assumes piecework means a rush job, but it flips when your paycheck depends on the thing being done right the first time. If you get paid per finished job, a comeback or a fix eats your own time and money, so you check your work. It makes the whole team care more about quality because a mistake hurts everyone, not just the boss. Suddenly you're all focused on getting it perfect, not just fast.

Wait, they actually take more time now? That's the complete opposite of what everyone says happens with piecework.

Hot take: Hand-tied bouquets have a soul that foam-based ones just don't.

Used to think foam was just smarter for the business side of things. Seeing how a hand-tied bouquet moves and breathes totally won me over though. The connection you get from building it stem by stem is the whole point for me now.
