Spent $150 on a 'professional grade' window cleaning kit that couldn't even handle my second floor
Last year I saw an ad for this 'amazing' telescoping window cleaning system with a built-in squeegee and soap dispenser. I ordered it for $150 and waited 4 weeks for delivery from some warehouse in Ohio. When I finally used it, the water bladder broke on my second window and the pole kept collapsing at the worst moments. Has anyone else fallen for those fancy window cleaning kits or found one that actually works for tall windows?

Man I spent $45 on a basic extension pole and a cheap squeegee from Home Depot and it works fine for my second story windows. The cord keeps it from collapsing and I just use a spray bottle with soap. Sounds like you got burned by a gimmick more than anything, those all in one systems are usually junk. Maybe next time just stick with the simple stuff and save yourself the headache. Window cleaning doesn't need to be rocket science.

That specific kit you got sounds like a dud, but I actually got the Unger Stingray kit for about $130 last spring and it's been fine for my two story house. The pole locks solid with the twist mechanism and the soap dispenser is just a button on the handle, nothing complicated to break. I've done maybe 10 cleanings with it and the only issue was the rubber blade wore out faster than I expected, but replacement strips are like $8.
