My old method was to just leave the lights on for a month straight. The smart plug setup felt like discovering fire, only to realize I'd been chilling in a cave for years.

Reading about @michael_lopez53's cave years really hits home. I used to be that person climbing up and down a ladder every night, just to turn off some lights. Now with smart plugs, it's like why did we even bother with all that hassle? Remember when we thought leaving lights on for a month was a good idea? How did we not see how silly that was before?

Honestly though, was all that climbing around maybe kinda good for us? Tbh getting up to turn off lights forced us to move and maybe notice stuff we'd miss now.
